Our Story

Growing up in a family of builders, I was always surrounded by construction. I became fascinated by the "brains" behind the work and wanted to know how houses were designed. At Gervais High School, I started taking drafting classes. I loved how simple lines on a page could turn into a masterpiece. After graduating with honors, I went to Chemeketa Community College and finished at the top of my class with a degree in architectural design.

Finding a job at first was very difficult. Even though I was constantly searching for design work, I decided to work as a house framer. This gave me hands-on experience and showed me exactly how a home is put together. Eventually, I found a local engineering company that hired me. I worked hard and became their lead designer, where I learned the "hidden tricks" of how to engineer a home.

When that company moved away, I decided to start my own business using everything I had learned from framing and engineering. I called it TOPLINE Drafting & Design. Here, every client’s vision is taken from the TOP and has a straight LINE to the finish.
